  3. Installation:

  5. All Claris XTND Translator should be placed in the Claris Translators folder located in the system folder, inside the Claris Folder.
  6.  
  7. Replace:
  8. 1. WMF / BMP XTND and QT GRaphics Importer XTND in the Claris Translator folder.
  9. 2. Delete all copies of the file: XTND Translator List.  It will be recreated.
  10. 3. Quit and restart your Claris program if they are running and test translators.

  19. The XTND Power Enabler is a Power Macintosh shared library system extension enabling native Power Macintosh applications to call the Claris XTND System.  Only the interface library has become native, the remaining parts of XTND, like Claris XTND System remain the same 68K code.

  23. • XTND Power Enabler
  24. This system extension is the shared library itself - containing the Power Macintosh interface library.  It should be installed into the extensions folder.

  26. XTND Power Enabler requires Claris XTND System 1.3.6 or later.   The native interface library is not guaranteed to work with older versions.

  41. This    XTND Translator will read a Graphics image using QT V2.5 or later. As a result it will read the following graphics formats supported by QuickTime v2.5:

  43.           JPEG, GIF, PhotoShop 2.5/3.0, SGI .rgb, MacPaint, QuickTime, PICT

  45. QT Graphics Importer XTND translator valid file types:  
  46.     '????' - Any valid file
  47.     'BINA' - Any valid file
  48.     'JPEG' - JPEG files,
  49.     'GIFf' - GIF files,
  50.     'qtif' - QuickTime Image format,
  51.     'PGNT' - Macintosh Paint,
  52.     'PICT' - Macintosh PICT,
  53.     '8BPS' - PhotoShop V2.5 or V3.0 format,

  55. Known bugs: Seem to have a problem importing GIF files into FileMaker Pro V3.0. It works with ClarisWorks, MacWrite II, FileMaker Pro V1.0v2 and other XTND products.

  59. - fix importing for JPEG files, by not checking version number, 
  60.    use to check for file starting with '8BMP' ie. PhotoShop V2.5/3.0/4.0 files.  
  61.    GIF importing under FileMaker Pro V3.0 still is having problems.

  67. This XTND Translator will read Windows BMP files (including RLE encoded BMP files), and Windows MetaFiles.  Windows MetaFiles are translated into Object oriented PICTs.  The XTND Translator replaces "Windows (.BMP) - XTND" Translator.
